It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without a few (somewhat clichéd) references to hearts and roses – and, of course, the token, associated shades of red.

But from Anya Hindmarch’s chubby hearts on the streets of London, to Jonathan Simkhai’s red slip dresses in his suffragette-inspired show,  the colour red- and all its connotations- is revamped this Valentine’s Day.

As red prevails in its various tones and forms, we’re picking our favourite red, romantic looks hitting the New York Fashion Week runways at this season.
